COVID-19 Update June 2020
Disciples of Pleasant Grove,
To date, the COVID-19 Pandemic guidelines have been published for businesses and churches alike. The church guidelines permit more leniency, however, that comes with a great risk for the membership. I have been meeting regularly with the Deacon Ministry and in our discussions, the safety and health of the membership is paramount. We will not place any disciple of Jesus Christ under my leadership in danger in any way. Therefore, under current guidelines and out of an abundance of caution, we will continue our on-line presence through YouTube and Zoom. In making decisions for the future, we must consider spacing, capacity, and feasibility of worship. For now, it is better to continue our current course of evangelizing and educating the body.
As the Governor and Department of Health begin to structure the church guidelines, we are moving rapidly toward reopening “Phase 4”. This will allow groups of 50 and less to begin gathering. If no further directions for churches comes forth, we will begin to have Wednesday Bible Study in July. More information will be posted on the website and Facebook as we get closer to that time. We anticipate the continuation of face masks must be worn at all times while indoors and six-foot social distancing being maintained by all members that do not reside in the same household. We will be more specific as we approach partial opening.
As we continue to be in prayer for our country, our health, and revelation of God’s will for each of us, we must be vigilant in our dedication to our church and each other. I encourage you to continue, as God has blessed you, to be good stewards of your increase by supporting your church financially. Each Wednesday and Sunday have been designated times for all disciples to enter the church, render your gifts and receive communion according to Social Distancing Guidelines. The Deacons and I are available should you need us for your spiritual needs as they arise. For any emergencies, you may call the church office and the voicemail has numbers for contacting me. Your leadership asks for your prayers and your support as we navigate these waters of uncertainty. Again, we are monitoring the situation and as soon as we can safely resume activities, we will inform you.
Until we meet together may God keep you in perfect peace.
Dr. William DeShone Rosser

How can I Help during this time?
Support our church financially. While this crisis is handicapping most of the world, locally, our church needs you. In order for our church to be there for us, we must support our church. You can make your regular tithes and offering using the online platform of Givelify on the App or on our website www.pgbchurch.org. If you prefer to deposit your envelope in person, all of the above times are perfect for doing so utilizing the Tithe collection box in the Sanctuary or Outside the church Administrative Office. We encourage you to be prayerful during this time as you contribute and be faithful for God is faithful.
What Do We Do about Worship?
Currently, we do not have the ability to “live stream” but are working to make that an option. We encourage you to continue reading the Bible Study Book “The Bait of Satan” and your devotional readings you do on a personal level. Past sermons are available on our website for your listening pleasure.
How Long will this Last?
At this point, we are anticipating this to be the normal course of business until March 31, however, as this is a fluid situation, please know that it could be longer. As soon as we receive the clearance from CDC and State agencies to resume normal activity, we will.
Easter Cantata Concerns
We have decided to postpone the Cantata until we have advanced beyond the Virus danger period.
In conclusion, we are praying God’s mercy on our church and our world. We have faith that God has the answer and will see us through this difficult period. Please know that we are still available for your calls and requests provided they meet the published guidelines for Personal Protection and Safety. Please look for updates on our Facebook Page and our Website as well as Text Messages in the meantime.
Stay safe and Prayerful,
Pastor Rosser and Deacon Ministry
